THE CHEFS AT AWFF 2007

The AWFF event started by Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff is a definite must attend! I have gone the last several years and it is always a gastronomic love fest. This spectacular event takes place over three days in Los Angeles every Fall and raises money for the Los Angeles Chapter of Meals On Wheels, which serves thousands of meals each day to Los Angeles’ homebound, seniors and disabled citizens. This year’s festivities takes place on  September 26, 27th and 28th, 2008.

The opening event takes place on Friday evening at the Pacific Design Center and is a mingling event with the chefs at Wolfgang Puck’s RED SEVEN.  The evening will feature fine wines and spirits, music and a focus on beef. Wolfgang’s own Cut Steakhouse and Lawrys will be on hand to satisfy the meat eater in you. This event is priced at $150 which makes it a perfect fit for the younger set who still want to feast on fine eats and support a great cause.

The main event is held on the back lot of Universal Studios and is the one I really look forward to every year. At $300 a person, you definitely get what you pay for. It is such an Incredible event with not only the BEST chefs and food around, but a superior selection of wines and spirits, a lavish desert section, a variety of music, and an auction to make any bidder drool. It is definitely an evening you won’t forget…or regret. A sampling of the many spectacular participating chefs at this year’s event include Julian Serrano of Picasso, Michelle Bernstein of Michy’s, Joachim Splichal of Patina, Michael Mina of the soon to open XIV, Roy Yamaguchi of Roys, Mark Peel of Campanile, Piero Selvaggio of Valentino, and Hiro Sone and Lissa Doumani of Ame and Terre. At the Perrier Jouet grand desert station, you will find Stanton Ho, Francois Payard, Elizabeth Falkner, Sherry Yard, and other amazing talents.

The AWFF closes with a $750 per head or $7,000 for a table of 10 Chef’s Grand Tasting dinner at Spago Beverly Hills with an all star team of celebrated chefs. Along with Wolfgang, this evening will feature guest chefs Joel Robuchon (one of my ABSOLUTE FAVES!), Jose Andres, Nobu, Eric Ripert, and Sam Mason. Definitely worth the benjamins for this one!

Tickets for all three events can be purchased here at AWFF Tickets 2008

I will be attending the event at the universal studions with my husband. We’ve heard such good things and can’t wait to see all the famous chefs.

Mika you are sure right about this one that it sure isn’t an event to be missed. Celebrity chefs on hand cooking and serving their dishes while in the movie studios back lot. How cool is that!
