Chef Gaston Acurio will be at La Mar in San Francisco this Thursday, June 15 on his third stop of a summer tour of events to benefit and bring awareness to his Peruvian-based culinary school for underprivileged students. Opened in 2007, the Pachacútec Culinary Institute was founded by Chef Acurio to satisfy the growing interest among the younger generation in Peru in the culinary arts. The school provides classes covering the history of Peruvian cuisine, kitchen techniques, nutrition, and English language. They also learn from great masters of Peruvian cuisine, who are guest teachers at the school. His two previous events this week were in Miami and Chicago.
