Veggie Grill recently opened it's fourth Southern California location in West Hollywood and I hope to see more popping up in other areas in the near future. Healthy food that is satisfying is tops on my list and Veggie Grill does it well. On several occasions, I've enjoyed the Papa's Portobello and I swear that it's been more satisfying than many carniverous burgers I've indulged in. For only $8.50, you get a made to order grilled juicy portobello mushroom atop a fluffy whole wheat bun with chopped tomato, carmelized onions, pesto, chipotle ranch, garlic and basil pomodoro. It comes with a small side of red cabbage slaw but for only $1.50 you can add some Steamin' Kale with ginger-miso dressing and roasted sesame seeds (shown above).
I still have yet to try everything on the Veggie Grill menu, which I certainly look forward to...but in the meantime, I highly recommend you try the Papa's Portobello - you won't be disappointed.
