Mika Takeuchi, Founder/ Editor
Born in Tokyo, just minutes away from the world-famous Tsukiji fish market, Mika was dining at the best sushi bars in the world by age three. Her father would break the wooden chopsticks in half so they were her size. From Japan, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, worked in restaurants, and eventually started her own e-commerce fashion boutique. Her love of style, design, and fashion is complemented by her passion for food, cooking, and dining. In her closet you will find Proenza Schouler and Choos, and in her kitchen you will find razor sharp Japanese knives and Viking. She has consulted and worked in restaurants with top chefs, and knows the industry from a unique perspective as both a patron and insider. She was a guest explorer/writer for the MICHELIN Guide and a contributing author of the book "Creating a Meal You'll Love". She is also a freelance writer, media personality, and ghostwrites for several acclaimed chefs. In addition, Mika was also a brand ambassador for Luce della Vite wines from Tuscany - a collaboration of the Frescobaldi and Mondavi families.
From a sixteen-course meal at Joel Robuchon to an incredibly delectable five-dollar find at the local Farmers' Market, Mika's dining style is as eclectic as her wardrobe. As she always says “If you enjoy food, you enjoy life.”
