Downtown Los Angeles' Drago Centro was the gathering scene for an Urban Spoon meet and greet with local L.A. food writers, bloggers and the company's awesome team from Washington State. Held in Drago Centro's contemporary private back room, it was a festive setting with delicately spooned passed hors d'oeuvres and and a well edited selection of delectable items. Tasty small bites included a generous wood board of charcuterie, and an assortment of flat bread pizzas - Squash Blossom, Sausage, Mozzarella and Spinach Ricotta, Pancetta and a classic Margherita - Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil.

It's always delightful meeting online "friends" in person, but the biggest bonus of the night was a reunion with of my dearest friends from way back in time, Pam of Daily Gluttony who I hadn't seen in over 15 years. She and I have so many fond memories and from now, I look forward to sharing a lot more memorable experiences and meals with her. It was also great seeing the fab Sharon of WeezerMonkey, and Tony and his better half Hayon of SinoSoul. Also got to meet hip L.A. gals TheMinty and UncouthGourmands.
In addition to the noshing, sipping, and socializing going on, Phil from UrbanSpoon added the famous Urban Spoon slot machine app (above) to work on my Blackberry. I always envied IPhone users who had the app since it looked so entertaining to spin the Urban Spoon meal wheel. But now alas, I have another application to spend probably waaaay to much time on. Well at least this one involves food, so it definitely will be time well spent.
