Cafe Gelato at the Bellagio – Las Vegas
Not all Gelato is created equal, so when you see a sign that says "Gelato served here", it doesn't necessarily mean that it is freshly made and delicious gelato. When I was studying art in Italy, I would look forward to my afternoon gelato treat almost every day. In Rome, Florence, Perugia, and Assisi, I had my favorite gelato shops. Disappointing it was, when I arrived back to the U.S. and found some of the gelato shops here to be nothing in comparison to my fave spots in Gelato's birthplace of Italy.
So happy was I when I discovered Cafe Gelato at the Bellagio. From the coffee, to the coconut, to the pistachio, to the dulce de leche, to the hazelnut, to the sweet strawberry, my friends and I were in heaven. Gelato typically has less butter fat than ice cream and unlike ice cream, there is no air added to gelato which makes it more creamy and dense. That is why gelato melts quicker than ice cream.
Cafe Gelato's decor is so colorful and cheerful, that it was a no brainer when they asked "for here or to go". Definitely a charming and relaxing spot to enjoy your melt in your mouth gelato amidst the hustle and bustle of the casinos and the strip.
