Robb Report – the Global Luxury resource has released it’s annual Best of the Best Restaurants for 2009. The French reigned with four out of the seven restaurant’s kitchens being run by French chefs (Boulud, Ducasse, Gras and Crenn) while the other three are Americans (Chang, Mina, Trotter). Only one female chef made it on the coveted list (Crenn), who we should also mention was named Esquire’s chef of the year 2008. Six out of the seven properties are located in North America while only one (Maison Boulud) is located overseas in China.
Congratulations to the following seven restaurants that made the cut:
Charlie Trotter’s, Restaurant Charlie – Las Vegas, Nevada
David Chang’s Momofuku Ko – New York, New York
Alain Ducasse’s Adour at St. Regis– Washington, D.C.
Laurent Gras’ L20 – Chicago, Illinois
Dominique Crenn’s Luce (pictured above) – San Francisco, California
Michael Mina’s XIV – Los Angeles, California
Daniel Boulud’s Maison Boulud – Beijing, China

Oy! Looks like I have some traveling ahead of me! 🙂
Nice list above. I’ve eaten at 2 of the seven but still would like to eat at the rest. I don’t know when I’ll be going to Beijing, so for now I’ll just visit Daniel in NYC. I’m curious why they chose that one instead of his US spots.
Great photo of Luce! Go Dominique. Can’t wait to dine there again.
I have heard so much about Momofuku Ko. Is it really that good? I must save up money and try soon.
Crenn’s Lucce is a refreshing choice.

Indeed! I’m looking forward to Robb Report’s 2010 best restaurant list. Quite curious who will be on the list.
