Though nearly two weeks have passed, it is rather difficult to forget the multiple mouth watering meals enjoyed at this year’s Vegas Uncork’d 2010 presented by Bon Appetit. Visions of Fried Spicy Lobster Lollipops and the Tuna Tartare Trio are still fresh in my mind from the Master’s Series Luncheon at the Venetian’s acclaimed Valentino Las Vegas restaurant.
James Beard Award winning Piero Selvaggio and Chef Luciano Pellegrini, kicked off this intimate noon time event with a warm introduction and brief description highlighting the fabulous wines and contemporary Italian dishes shortly underway. The tender Spring Lamb Medallions with Fava Beans and Risotto all’Onda with Dover Sole Filet drizzled Vodka Sauce offered both a visually appealing and appetite satisfying culinary experience. Because no fabulous meal is complete without an extensive selection of sweets, the luncheon ended with a gorgeous rainbow assortment of gelatos beautifully presented in two colorful rows and sprinkled with miniature spheres of chocolate covered crisped rice. It's no surprise why Valentino is considered one of the "modern fathers of Italian cuisine in America".
